Training Objectives
This online, self-paced training of approximately 10.5 hours aims to help you develop the skills needed to understand and apply the principles of the psychoeducational model for the planning and evaluation of psychoeducational activities.
Training Description
This training integrates the key concepts of the psychoeducational model and adopts an accessible and popularized teaching approach. The learner will benefit from short reading periods, videos of experts and clinicians, comprehension exercises, frequently asked questions about practice and concrete tools for the planning and evaluation of a psychoeducational activity. Topics covered include:
- The basic concepts of the psychoeducational model: notions of balance, level of challenges, interactions, etc.
- The Overall structure: the 13 components of the overall structure, their usefulness, how to apply them to plan an activity, etc.
- Animation: what to do once the activity has been planned?
- Post-intervention evaluation: understanding what an evaluation is, its dimensions, and how to carry it out following an activity.

Glossary of Psychoeducational Terms
Boscoville has launched a collaborative effort to translate psychoeducational terms from French to English. This initiative aims to improve youth and family care services in Québec by making the strengths of the psychoeducational model more accessible.

Gilles Gendreau Award
In 2018, this training received the prix Gilles Gendreau of the Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrice du Québec.
This award recognizes an approach, program or service implemented by one or more members of the Order or by a multidisciplinary team composed of at least one psychoeducator as a response to an identified need. The project must demonstrate the leadership or initiative of the psychoeducator and must be recent (must have been carried out in the last five years).
