Montréal, May 31, 2019 – On May 30th, the Legault government formalized the holding of a special commission on the rights of the child and youth protection. Boscoville welcomes this initiative, since it will not only question the role of courts, financing and the legislative framework, but also look at the professional practices of social care professionals.

Boscoville is currently a leader in the development of professional practices for social care professionals working with youth. For several years now, the organization has successfully developed an excellent partnership with eleven CISSSs and CIUSSSs across Québec by implementing innovative practices in different environments. The initiatives currently in place, notably with youth aged 6 to 12 and adolescents (YCA and YCJA) have allowed us to provide social care professionals and organizations with the necessary tools to offer a kind and friendly intervention attentive to the positive development of youth. As a result, Boscoville is well positioned to enrich the conversation on the well-being of youth.

Boscoville will continue to support and collaborate with the CISSSs and the CIUSSSs of Québec and to support the concerted effort of all the partners in the field to work together for the continuous improvement of services offered to children.
