Boscoville is a non-profit social innovation organisation whose core mission is to support the positive development of youth from ages 0 to 30. In collaboration with Quebec’s network of universities and partners working directly with youth, Boscoville contributes to the ongoing improvement of intervention and prevention practices by conceiving and implementing innovative programs in the preschool, school, rehabilitation and community sectors.
Indigenous Programs is the Boscoville program area that works with Indigenous partners. Our program mandate is to provide culturally safe, culturally relevant training and support to improve professional practices within Indigenous organizations working with youth.
For each program, we facilitate the creation and delivery of a locally specific module on cultural safety given by a local/indigenous person.
We back Indigenous self-determination on a community-by-community basis by aiming to build communities of learning and sharing with our Indigenous partners that honour and incorporate local strengths and preferences. While we offer a particular set of expertise, we are aware that system interventions and sustainable growth must be rooted in the knowledge, culture and needs of the community.
